Living and working in Mariposa has been a wonderful experience. I am so glad my husband and I chose to move here.

With the help of a great Century 21© Mariposa real estate REALTOR®, we found a beautiful house with a gorgeous view on a hill in Mariposa. We can see the mountains of Yosemite National Park to the east, the city of Mariposa to the south, and the San Joaquin Valley to the west.

We sold our small home in San Diego (1,175 square feet on a 40 foot lot) for $400,000 and bought this 2900 square foot house with 12.8 acres for $395,000. Over the years, my husband and I have bought and sold numerous rental homes and have really enjoyed it. I am familiar with the 1031 tax code that allows you to trade one rental home for another and defer taxes.

Having been born and raised in Southern California, I now love living in a small, quiet community. I have been coming to Yosemite for years to hike, take photos and cross-country ski. So when it came time for early retirement from a large health maintenance organization, my husband and I chose to move to Mariposa. Now I get to do what I love best: help people find Mariposa property that meets their dreams, needs and finances.

My earlier experiences include earning a Bachelors Degree from UC Davis and a Master’s Degree in educational counseling from San Diego State University. I have also obtained a license for Marriage, Family, and Child Therapy (MFCT) and certification as a Health Education Specialist (CHES). I was a counselor and instructor at San Diego City Community College and Mesa College then chose to work at Kaiser Permanente starting their health education program. When I began working at Kaiser Permanente, there were no classes and very little education for the patients. When I left, there were 150 classes per month, a robust Website, 200 recorded phone messages, and every new member received a book on how to prevent illness, how to take care of themselves when they were ill, and when to see a physician. We helped thousands of people stop smoking; manage their stress, depression, sleep apnea, asthma, diabetes, and other health problems.
